HI, I'M JODIE!
My Yoga Journey so far
I started practicing Yoga in 2014 after moving to Musselburgh. Initially I was drawn to the physical side of Yoga, but as I began to practice regularly other benefits became clear. Yoga didn't just help me with my strength and mobility but it helped me with my anxiety and everyday life.
By 2017 I wanted to go deeper but being a master procrastinator I needed a push to do my Yoga teacher training so my husband gave me a shove by booking it for me!
I completed my RYT 200 hour Yoga teacher training with Dhugal Meachem of Tribe Yoga Academy in 2017. Initially I wasn't sure I wanted to teach but after teaching family and friends I built up my confidence and stepped in feet first and haven't looked back.
Yoga is many things to many people, there are many different styles of yoga, different lineages and if you asked 100 people what yoga was and does for them you would likely get 100 different answers. That is the beauty of yoga. Meet yourself on the mat, learn about you and your body and take what you need.
I suffer from Fibromyalgia and PCOS and the extra symptoms that come with them, fatigue, anxiety and phantom aches and pains. Yoga gives me what I need, some days if I have energy I will do a faster paced sweaty practice but sometimes its slow gentle movement or no movement at all, maybe doing yin or meditation. I believe yoga can be for everyone you just need to find the right Yoga class and the right Yoga teacher.
I'm constantly continuing to build on my knowledge as there is always something else to learn or deepen your knowledge of when it comes to Yoga and the complimentary therapies. I regularly attend CPD courses and workshops to develop my teaching and my own practice.
Some of the extra learning I have done
RPYT 85 hour Pregnancy and Mum and Baby Yoga course
Sport Massage Diploma
Level 2 Anatomy for Yoga Course 15Hour CPD
Trauma informed Yoga teacher training 50hours
Indian Head Massage
I have also attended courses on Ayurvedic Massage, philosophy and chanting and the art of adjustments with Karen Kirkness of Meadowlark Yoga.
I have just completed my RYT500 Advanced Yoga teacher training with Meadowlark Yoga.

A one to one yoga class is a brilliant option if you have an injury, ailment or mobility issue which may make it more difficult to attend a group class.
1 hour class held in your own home, can be done as a one off or a regular session
£40 PER SESSION
1 hour private classes are £40, 1:2:2's at £50 per hour and groups of 5 or more £70 per hour
If you are interested in a one to one or group session please send me an email so we can chat about what would suit you best.
DEVELOP AND LEARN
Working one to one allows us to focus on creating a yoga practice that suits your needs and lifestyle. It may be yin or power or anything in between, working on strength and alignment or working with an injury or mobility issues. We will work together to create a practice that will give you what you need.
FIT IN WITH YOUR LIFE
Private yoga sessions can be offered at a time that best suits your life, making it easier not to lose the motivation.
Starting Yoga has completely changed my life. After an injury to my back 20 years ago I've been on various medications for years. After a few months of practising Yoga and learning how the muscle groups work my intake of medications have been cut down to more or less nothing. The class is very relaxed and is not only great for the body but for the mind also. One hour to spend time on yourself and away from the general stress of life. Thanks Jodie
